GAME OF THE WEEK
Macclesfield FC Vs Oldham Athletic
2-5
Oldham Athletic bounce back after last weeks defeat, showing strength and resilience from the young squad.
Oldham dominated the first half and managed to keep Macclesfield at bay with some super saves by keeper Chloe. The attack was clinical by Oldham and they were quick to press Macclesfield and continue to dominate the game throughout the first half.
The second half saw Macclesfield win a penalty which gave them more confidence going forward. However, they were unable to go ahead and Oldham took all three points.
Oldham's coaching staff want to give credit to the game changers who came onto the pitch who held the game together.

Referee's highlights
FTJFC Vipers Vs Lymm Rovers
Fresh off the back of a 7-2 triumph over Fleetwood Vipers the previous weekend, Lymm Rapids would no doubt have been hoping to capitalise on their recent success and having suffered a 2-0 reverse at the hands of Flixton Flames, their opponents Kingsway Athletic would surely be arriving in the picturesque Cheshire village ‘fired up’ for this one.
On an unusually pleasant and mild day for mid-January and surrounded by rolling green fields, conditions were perfect for a good game of football to play out. Having taken the lead on 21 minutes, Kingsway pushed forward their advantage of attacking ‘downhill’ and went in at the break 3-0 up through goals scored by Eva-Grace and Eva , with the latter hitting a brace. As the teams swapped ends it became apparent that the incline afforded by the pitch gave Lymm the confidence to begin their charge back into the game. Having netted 4 last week, striker Emilia always looked a threat to the Kingsway backline, but it was tenacious midfielder Littlemore who, on 73 minutes, chipped goalkeeper Seaton from 20-yards out. Both teams pressed each other relentlessly for the full duration, players were left with very little time on the ball such was the commitment of their opponents in challenging for possession. Unfortunately for Lymm, they were unable to find their way past a hardworking Kingsway defence for a second time and this well-fought contest came to a close with the away side taking all 3 points back to Levenshulme, the final result ended: Lymm Rapids 1 Kingsway Athletic 3.
Crompton FC Vs Bury Reserves

Lymm Vs Urmston
As the mercury on the thermometer dropped and the bitter wind swept across the open field, the players of Lymm and AFC Urmston Meadowside braced themselves for a chilly Sunday afternoon in WA13. In an evenly fought contest, both teams initially struggled to get to grips with the conditions to steal a march on their opponents. Arriving with a scratch X1, Urmston were unfortunate to see midfield stalwart Shannon Howarth leave the field injured midway into the second half. With Meds now down to 10, Lymm utilised their substitutes and seized the initiative when pressing for the opener. On 65 minutes, Macie jinked her way past an Urmston defender, cutting into the penalty area from the left, she hoisted the ball high towards the goal and the speculative effort evaded the reach of goalkeeper Reo to put the hosts in the hot seat. With the clock running down Urmston launched their best attack of the match. In an attempt to level the contest and force the game to penalties, energetic forward Victoria took on her Lymm counterpart and managed to reach the touchline. Having been forced into a tight angle to take the shot on herself, she squared the ball along the goal-line where number 8, Lucy, was lying in wait to seemingly tap the ball into an open net, however, the pass had been played fractionally too strong and the incline of the slope meant the ball gathered too much momentum for Lucy to get a clean connection and the ball agonisingly rolled inches wide of the post. Having survived this scare, Lymm regained their composure to see out the game and having edged their local rivals by one goal to nil, it is they who progress into the quarter-final of the Division One Cup.
