GAME OF THE WEEK
Glossop North End CC Vs Spurley Hey Blues
0-1

U18s Division C- Stanway
"To play at such a fantastic ground, brand new AstroTurf pitch and a very welcoming team was brilliant" - Spurley Hey
Both teams started the games at a frantic pace. Spurley Hey took the lead late into the first half with a great goal from Isabella Murney.
The second half saw the intensity stay at the same pace with both teams continuing to create good chances.
Spurley Hey managed to stop a very attacking Glossop side from scoring, leaving the game at 1-0.

REFEREE'S HIGHLIGHTS
Ashton Pumas 7-2 Flixton Flames
"The game was played in good spirit. Both teams were respectful to each other and showed excellent discipline all through the fixture. Both players and coaching staff were a credit to women's football and aim in growing the GMWFL. It was refreshing to officiate a game with no issues to manage."
De La Salle 2-6 North Walkden Women
"I enjoyed refereeing an open aged game this past weekend. both teams were friendly to myself as an official, their own team mates and their respective opposition. Despite the pitch not being the best of surfaces, it was clear to see that both teams had fun and just really enjoyed playing football. It was a high scoring affair, with some good goals scored which made the spectacle even better. What was most pleasing to see is the improvement that players have made as the season has progressed, and so it's good to be an official in a league which supports the growth and development of players at grassroots level."

DERBY DAY!!!!
"We hosted Stalybridge in the Division 3 cup. A dry day (for a change) saw two teams in great spirts giving their best, throughout the game.
Both teams depleted through injury, illness and work, saw a competitive game, and at one point playing 10 a side!
A positive game throughout, with great fun, played the right way. We came out winners today with great goals from Emily x3 (you're not keeping a ball!), Jess x2 and our youngest player Millie bagging her first goal for the ladies.
Next week we face Stalybridge again, this time in the league. We wish them the very best for 2025. A great bunch of girls. Well done everyone, an enjoyable afternoon."
